There’s Art in life and life in Art!
My obsession with art dates back to the early 1990s. I was born in 1985. I hail from Tulbul, a small village in Bokaro district of Jharkhand and ever since my childhood days, art has been my favourite pastime. I’ve always been obsessed about bringing alive substrates with thought-provoking and captivating art. It’s my generous indulgence in this creative craft that’s keeps me ticking. For me art elevates, inspires and liberates. It is an innate talent which comes to me naturally.
While art is the visual medium of communication for me, English, Hindi and Khhortha help me converse formally with the world.
I developed and honed my artistic skills with a Fine Arts Degree from Ravindra Bharati University, Kolkata followed by a stint as an Arts and Crafts trainer at Union Club & Library Ranchi and North Convert School Dhanbad. I am very eclectic when it comes to furthering my passion. My profound interest in art ensured that I utilized every opportunity to enrich myself. Having participated in several painting exhibitions and art camps / workshops, I’ve equipped myself with an exotic array of perspectives, so imperative to create profound work.
I participated in Art camps and Painting Exhibitions (Wide Canvas 2004 & 2006) organized by Union Club and Library, Ranchi, and on a tangent, I even took to developing concepts, screenplays and character designs for short films. Encouragement came from being recognized for my talent and being awarded at Footage 08 & 09 organized by ANTS Studio Pvt. Ltd. Bangalore: ‘Best Concept and Screenplay Award’ for the 3D short film ‘One Drop’ and ‘Best Character Design Award’ for the 2D short film ‘Mobile City’.
This was where I had to shift gears to keep up with the times as technology began to redefine the way art was created and portrayed. I turned student again and pursued a course in 2D and 3D Animation from Ants Studio Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore. I graduated to becoming a 3D Technical Executive at the studio and later equipped myself with art-enabling software tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Flash, Coral Draw, Illustrator, Autodesk Maya, Mud box, Body Paint 3D, ZBrush, Adobe Aftereffects, Adobe Premiere Pro and Fusion. Far from this creative field, I even hold a Diploma in Medical Lab Technology from Central Hospital, Dhanbad, Jharkhand.
Though I value my academic qualifications, nothing gives me more joy and satisfaction than what I do best: art. To whet my insatiable appetite for this feel-good and liberating pastime, I try my hand at a variety of themes, giving form to my thoughts and infusing life into my ideas.
Drawing and painting comes naturally to me. While drawing brings out the visualizer in me, Painting extracts the emotional hues from within to not only add form to my feelings but also depth and enigma to my creations. Art is something I indulge in. It keeps me busy and serves as an avenue to express myself whenever I am free.
Other major interests on my hobby palette include Photography and Sports. While my life itself is a long, eternal and poetic race across the artistic terrain, I’ve also competed successfully in actual races, shorter though, to satisfy my interest in sports: I’ve pocketed Silver and Bronze medals (1500 mts in All India Mahatma Hansraj Aryan Sport Tournament – Faridabad, 2001 and 1500 mts & 3000 mts in CBSE Cluster 2001).
I work with Creative Multimedia Services, Hyderabad as a CG Instructor. I’ve earned an Autodesk Certification in Maya 2011 and 2012 and I enjoy my job as it is related to art, and it gives me an incentive to work more passionately.
